Boards & Commissions

Boards and commissions play a vital role in fulfilling the obligations of the City Council to Jacksboro citizens.

Board members and commissioners serve on a voluntary basis. Serving on one of the city’s boards or commissions provides the voice of the citizens and enhances the communication process between the citizens of Jacksboro and elected officials.

All Boards and Commissions are accountable to the Mayor and City Council. The Mayor and City Council will determine if the committee is functioning properly and accomplishing the defined duties and responsibilities. The City Council has the ultimate political and legal responsibility for all decisions faced by the local government.
