Yard & Lot Maintenance

Yard and lot maintenance is important to the health, safety, and welfare of our residents and plays an important role in maintaining a quality neighborhood appearance. City regulations prohibit:
  • Accumulations of trash, junk, and debris
  • Any untended growth of grass or weeds in excess of 10 inches in height
  • Vegetation or trees that impair a motorist or pedestrian’s field of vision at intersections
The city offers a fee for service yard debris clean up. For more information, please call (940) 567-6321.

Junked Vehicles

All vehicles are required to be currently licenses and fully operational if they are parked within public view. Vehicles that don’t run must be parked in a fully enclosed building or be covered with a proper fitting car cover (maximum one vehicle).

Dismantled vehicles stored outside of an enclosed structure are also prohibited.

Commercial Vehicles / Equipment Parked in Residential Areas

It is unlawful for any person to park any commercial vehicle such as semi-trucks and/or trailers, either as one unit or separately, wreckers, tow trucks, box trucks, dump trucks, bucket trucks, and the like, in any residentially zoned area within the city. The parking or storage of construction equipment is also prohibited.
