[ARCHIVED] City Sales Tax Update

If you have every attended a City budget meeting you know how important sales tax revenue is to the City of Jacksboro. In the FY 2013-2014 budget, staff projected that the city would receive approximately $900,000 in sales tax receipts, this is approximately thirty-five percent of the revenues required to support the operating budget.

Upon receipt of these funds from the Texas State Comptroller's office each month, city staff analyzes the data and prepares a historical comparison. In October 2013, the City received $118,770.32, which is an increase of 21.5 percent over the prior year and represents $1,439,640 of reported sales in Jacksboro during the month of August.
