The City of Jacksboro Animal Control Department provides animal care and control services to the residents within the City of Jacksboro and offers adoptions to everyone around the community.

Responsibilities
The animal control officer is responsible for responding to all calls regarding:

• Adoption cases 
• Animal bites
• Animal surrender 
• Animal welfare
• Lost or found animals 
• Nuisance animals
• Stray animals

Staff will respond in a timely manner to all issues that are brought to the department's attention.

Volunteer Opportunities
We welcome each and every citizen to participate in the volunteer programs that are offered at the animal shelter. Our goal is to provide quality care for the animals during their stay in our shelter facility.
